| From the editor: I hope you enjoyed time and good cheer with your family over Thanksgiving. I found out my Godmother did. Which may be an understatement. She has been with a wonderful gentleman for the past many years and they decided to invite their immediate families to join them on Thanksgiving weekend, not unusual, but then sprung the news they were getting married. Talk about romantic. Now we have known her new husband for many years and he has "unofficially" been a member of the family for a long time, but it is nice to "officially" welcome Chuck to the family; Welcome! The good thing is he knows what he got himself into with our family. Not to say our family has any "issues". We're like most families; really competitive (try playing any board game, trivial pursuit, whatever, without wearing ear muffs), we all have similar political views (similar as Rush Limbaugh and James Carville), and we have an open dialogue between families not unlike the UN but more like the CIA. My wife and I discussed the wedding and thought how nice it was to have a ceremony with just immediate family without all the brew ha ha! I think sometimes couples getting married focus more on the "party", pomp and circumstance, rather than what marriage truly is; two people committed to each other promising to have and hold, for better or worse... How refreshing. Not to say our family shies away from a party, but we are a family of large hearts and deep souls and we know a good thing when we see it, even if there is no beer! So I would like to ask you to raise your glass tonight when you get home (wine, beer, punch, or water) and toast a couple that has made a wonderful commitment to each other, have been selfless in their commitment to our family, and truly represent the big hearts and deep souls that make up the foundation of our family. I have been blessed with the added advantage of calling her not only my Aunt, but Godmother, and I wish them the continued blessings they have had for so many years but are now "official", may God Bless Aunt Dot and Chuck.
